Guide Underdog
Family Adventure Comedy · Ages 7–12
When a guide dog school rejects him as a mutt, a stray puppy finds allies in a lonely girl and a blind boy, fighting for the chance to be judged by his abilities rather than his pedigree.
Synopsis
Lucky, a small stray puppy, dreams of becoming a guide dog. But the school won’t even test him: he has no pedigree, no papers, no place among the purebreds. Stubborn and full of heart, he decides to train himself, secretly copying the lessons he watches from a distance.
Along the way he meets Lisa, a girl so desperate for a friend that she tells him a terrible lie to keep him close, pretending to be blind herself, and Aris, a boy who really is blind, fighting for the right to perform in the school play without fear or pity deciding for him. Three heroes, each judged before they were given a chance, learn that real respect is not easy applause or pity. It is an equal opportunity: to be seen without prejudice, and to be given the right to try before anyone decides what you can or cannot do.
